Alaska Staff Development Network
The Alaska Staff Development Network is a statewide partnership, founded in 1983 that includes Alaska's 53 school districts, the State Department of Education and Early Development, NEA-Alaska, and the Alaska Council of School Administrators along with Alaska's universities and colleges and other educational institutions.
We believe that the unique professional growth needs of Alaska's teachers and can be best supported by strengthening collaborative relationships among these groups.
ASDN administers the "Juneau Effective Prevention Project" a five year partnership with the University of Washington's Center for the Study and Teaching of At-Risk Students to develop a comprehensive, preK-12, school/community based prevention system supporting urban, suburban and rural communities. Funded and guided by OJJDP and SAMHSA, using the Drug Free Communities Model
